30 Weeks
Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my OBGYN? Kaykay is the best doctor that I could have ever even imagined having. She always makes me feel great about the baby’s health and my ever expanding body without sugar coating anything in the process. She knew I was coming in yesterday so she brought us one of her son’s sweet baby blankets. Her son’s name is Jack and she wanted my Jack to have it. I know our Jack will love it! :)
Back to the 30 week update. Jack is now about 16 inches long and weighs a little over 3 pounds. His eyesight is continuing to develop, though it’s not very keen. Even after he is born, he will keep his eyes closed for most of the day and will only have a 20/400 vision (which means he will only be able to make out objects a few inches from his face). He will continue to pack on the pounds in the upcoming weeks at a rate of about ½ pound per week. Aside from his fast development and growth, Jack spends his days making faces, hiccupping, swallowing, breathing, pedaling, sucking his thumb, and kicking Mama! :)
I had a huge realization yesterday that we don’t have long now before we get to meet Jack. I understand that Jack will be here only when he is ready and that is what I want....I don’t want to rush him in any way at all. If we go to term, an induction will be scheduled for December 1st...giving us just 9 weeks to go. If he is anything like Kamryn, he will be ready at 37 weeks...giving us 7 weeks to go. I have felt further along this entire pregnancy so we will see how everything plays out. To say the least, I need to get his nursery ready, NOW!
We go back in two weeks for my 32 week check-up and sonogram!
We get to see our sweet Jack! :)

Over the Weekend...
Kamryn walking to the parade cheering
"Go Whippets!"
When Ethel's Homecoming was over, we went to Kosciusko's Homecoming game. Even though we missed the Homecoming ceremony, we made it in time for the game. With Kamryn in tow, I am only able to stay through halftime. That's okay with this pregnant, tired mama though.
Early Saturday morning, dressed in PJs, we went to Raines's cupcake birthday party at the bakery. The kids decorated their own cupcakes...
Kamryn tasting her icing. Notice how compact her cupcake is....she mashed down the icing like play-doh....silly girl.
...hunting for dinosaur eggs...
Even though Kamryn had a great time at both parties, I could tell she wasn't feeling like herself. Sure enough, later that afternoon, she had a fever and was complaining of her "head" hurting. (Which turns out was the area behind her ear.) Doctor said it was the sinus cavity behind her ear that was probably sore from a sinus infection. She is taking meds but is completely fine.
The best part of our weekend....was Kamryn's first trip to the movies! The Lion King-3D!

28 Weeks
He is acquiring many new skills with each passing day, he can blink his eyes, cough, suck, hiccup, see light that filters in his cozy home, and is also taking practice breaths. He is also settling into the proper position for birth (hopefully).
At my last appointment, I took my glucose test. (Fun, fun.) The drink itself is not so bad, it’s the part where I can’t eat or drink anything from midnight until the conclusion of the test that is so bad! :) I failed the first, 1 hour test. :( I expected that I would just because I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour with Kamryn. So I went back two days later for the dreaded 3 hour test. I passed. :) Whew!
For the last couple of days, I have been SO TIRED! Just getting dressed in the morning is enough to send me right back to bed (if I had that option). Welcome to the 3RD TRIMESTER! :)
